You Can’t Heal What You Can’t See
Lessons from Pluto and Election Season
On November 1, 2024, just before the US election, a new moon in Scorpio brought powerful energy for setting intentions. Scorpio’s transformative intensity combined with the heightened national climate invites deep reflection. Coming right after Halloween and Samhain, when the veil between worlds is thin, this new moon also carries an ancestral energy, encouraging us to reconnect with our roots throughout the month.
Mars-Pluto Opposition: A Call for Courage and Balance
On November 3, 2024, we encountered the Mars-Pluto opposition, though its effects have likely been felt since late October and will continue influencing the first weeks of November. Mars represents action, bravery, and courage—its higher energies—but can also manifest as war, aggression, or conflict when unbalanced. Pluto, on the other hand, is a planet of transformation and revelation, bringing hidden truths to the surface, particularly in Scorpio’s realm. This opposition heightens tension, creating an inner “push-pull” dynamic that may challenge us to balance standing up for ourselves and knowing when to maintain peace. Many may feel this energy as a subtle tug-of-war between expressing needs and holding back to avoid friction.
Pluto in Capricorn and the U.S. Pluto Return
As Pluto concludes its journey through Capricorn, which began in 2008, it’s especially impactful for the U.S., which is undergoing its Pluto return. Pluto takes 248 years to cycle through all signs, and this return reveals deep-rooted structures and societal issues. Pluto governs banks, government, big institutions. Pluto's entry into Capricorn in 2008 revealed the weaknesses of our financial structures and banking systems.
I see the current Pluto return in the United States revealing the deep wound of the U.S. having white supremacy and racism as significant tenants of its birth. What we have been experiencing these last few years is watching Pluto in Capricorn finish up its lessons.
The systemic racism, inequities, and hatred is on full display. You can not heal what you can not see. It is awakening in people where they want to stand on either side of the issue. We have an opportunity to finally heal that wound. People can no longer stay silent or neutral.
Pluto briefly entered Aquarius from March 2023 to June 2023, then went back into Capricorn. Pluto reentered Aquarius January 20, 2024, and stayed there until September 1, 2024. We are now in the final weeks of Pluto in Capricorn where it will stay until November 19, 2024, and move firmly into Aquarius where it will stay until 2044.
This upcoming Pluto in Aquarius transit tells us we have a choice to make about how we define ourselves as individuals and as a country.
Historically, Pluto in Aquarius has correlated with transformative revolutions, such as the French, American, and Industrial Revolutions. As it transitions fully into Aquarius on November 19, 2024, Pluto will usher in a new era, placing emphasis on collective empowerment, innovation, and reform.
This presidential election contains two archetypal energies, Pluto in Capricorn represented by Donald Trump symbolizing the patriarchy fighting to stay alive while it crumbles and falls apart, and then we have Kamala Harris who represents Pluto in Aquarius symbolizing democracy, new energy, and the elevation of the feminine.
Prioritize Self-Soothing
In times of immense change, it’s essential to nurture your well-being.
I believe souls choose to be born during particular times to help the collective expand, grow, and heal. I feel many of the people attracted to what I do are people who would also agree with that sentiment.
In order to do that work and not burn out, prioritize self-care, or what I think of as self-soothing. Stay hydrated, exercise, meditate, play. If your form of play is working out, then work out. Or if you just want to run around the backyard with your kids, then do that. Remember to breathe. Stretch. Dance.
As we move through this election, or as it moves through us, ground, stay calm, and remember you are enough. You are doing enough. The core of us is that we are love, light, and truth. Everything unfolds in divine perfect timing. We are always fully taken care of and supported. We will receive what we need when we need it.
Let me know how it goes.
Easefully yours,
Darice
